This may sound strange, but see if you can find a K30 Chev/GMC from 1973-80, and latch on to the swing out spare tire carrier. It is so bloody simple you will be amazed, and it not only drops down but it swings out to the side so you can set pluck the spare out from beside the truck. Once you get a look at it, you will see it is easy to fit under the Dodge, and it never jambs or breaks!
