A/C evaporator replacement
I have a leak in the evaporator and will need to remove and replace it. The A/C guy who did the testing for me said that Chrysler products commonly have evaporator leaks. Has any one replaced the evaporator? Can you give me any hints or suggestions before I tackle the dash removal. Thanks
I have done many in these trucks. Not too bad a job, but the dash must be removed and so must the heater housing.
I don't completely remove the dash, I leave some stuff on the driver side hooked up then use a strap and suspend the right side from the grab handle over the passenger door.
Don't completely remove the steering column, but undo the 2 nuts that support it to the dash, and it will flop down onto the floor if the seat is all the way back.
I learned to disconnect the brake light switch or the wires will stretch just far enough to break it.
Make sure your batteries are disconnected, because your airbag module is on the floor in the center and you will likely have to move it.
The heater housing is fairly easy to split apart once removed, but pay attention to where the doors and pivots are, for reassembly. The pivots have to fit into holes in the upper housing.
Those are all the tips that come to mind for now. If you have more questions, PM me.
Hope this helps.

Seems to me it took me half a day to do that project, like he said two bolts on the stering colum, I broke my wires to the brake, so un hook those. Have a electric screwdriver with an extension. More seasoned guys might be able to do it quicker, I ended up working in the dark with limited light. Good luck
