broken power screw

I broke the power screw on my ve pump by over tightening the jam nut in order to get it to stop leaking. I didn't do my research to later find out it was the o ring inside leaking. Anyhow, I'm stuck with a broken power screw and don't know much. Is it an easy screw to buy and if so how do I get the old one out? I hope I don't have to but an entire pump. Any help would be helpfull. Thanks

Bosch VE pump parts are readily available, and you should be able to get the replacement from one Bosch Diesel Service Centers inexpensively. Go to boschservice.com and follow their menu to locate one in your area.

The screw should thread right out if you can get to enough of it with a small pick or reverse flight drill bit. I use a very small burr in a reversing dremel type jewelry grinder and can almost always get them right out by taking my time.

If you remove the top, be sure you have the manual handy, as parts always fall into the body and you need to reinstall them with assembly grease (vaseline works - just never use a grease like chassis grease that has a mineral carrier or water as it will ruin the pump) to hold them where they belong when you reassemble the top to the case.

The guys on dieselbombers.com have a very good picture of the pump and its parts listed under the 1st generation topics.

I found this number on here searching, power screw is 1-463-402-423(-000)

You probably need to pull the top off the pump to get the screw out, but should be easy to back it out with the top off.

Yeah, take the pump top off and you can back i out with pliers from the inside. Order a 3200 RPM spring when you order the power screw, too.
