broken line pressure adjusting screw??

i had my pan off today to play with my light throttle shifting issues, first i turned the throttle valve stop screw out a turn because it seems to take forever to shift in real light throttle, and then i was gunna give my line pressure screw a turn because i figured it was worth a shot, (gauge on middle port read 75psi prior to) but the plate that compresses the spring in the cage, by the adjusting screw.. is right against the cage, and i was at the local tranny shop and they told me it should probably be a quarter inch or so away from the cage, i seen a new valve body they had there and everything. i would think it would matter what spring you have in there also, mine looks fairly heavy, its orange, and i believe theres a transgo kit installed. some kit anyway. so i cut off an allen key and go to turn the screw and the allen key fits quite snug, but i can take and move that bolt head around with the leverage from the allen key. anywhich way, i turned it in a couple turns and it sort of went behind the cage in there, and i could wiggle the spring and stuff and move the screw around.. so someting can't be right, any thoughts?

That adjustment works the opposite of what it looks like. CCW is more pressure.
Did you turn it the wrong way?

You are at risk of setting codes if you rais it. Make sure you do this right.!!!

ya, i can't back out that screw to where it seems like its threaded into whatever again, gunna be dropping the valve body in 5 mins. see whats not right.
