Broken down NEED HELP!!! :(
Well i'll give you the breakdown,
About a week ago my 2004 Ram 3500 Cummins dually(80 miles) started to leak fuel.It started out as a occasional wiff of diesel from inside the cab to a full blown leak. After further investigation under the hood i saw diesel leaking out towards the rear of the fuel filter. To be honest i sorta just stupidly ignored it and thought it was because of the really cold weather we've been having.
I started it up this morning and warmed her up with intentions of trying to figure out where this leak is coming from.On route to my shop i pulled on the highway and the truck just dies as if you were to run out of fuel.I towed it home and now she lies dead!!!
any takers???

Your fuel ( transfer)pump is on the rear of the fuel filter canister. There is a fuel supply line that runs from the tank to the pump. The fuel is pumped through the filter and through the banjo fitting on the buttom of the filter canister to the cp3 injector pump. The fuel supply line where it connects to the pump is only a 3/8 rubber line that has a spring style clamp that holds the line to the pump.
1.It could be the supply line where it connects.
2. The oring where the pump bolts to the canister
3. on the pressure side of the pump the banjo fitting.
should be able to bump the key and leave it in the on position but do not start and the pump should run for about 25 seconds. With a light and mirrow look for the leak. Use a flash light NOT a drop light because if the fuel leaking hit the bulb there could be a fire.
You can crawl under to do this but if the leaking is bad you may want to take off the fender liner to see and reach the problem area.
good luck

check all of your fuel lines. make sure good and tight and no cracks.(not that there should be) check the fuel drain on the canister. make sure it's closed. do you have the lift pump on the fuel bowl? check that maybe it went south andy fuel psi gauge?
