broken bolt in trans adapter plate

Hey guys I let my little brother help me with changing the clutch on my 99 well he snapped one of the heads off the boltthat holds the clutch houseing to the adapter plate. Well luckly it was the one on the bottom left so it is fairly easy to get to. My question is if I drill this bolt out will it be ok If I drill all the way through will I be ok putting a longer bolt with a nut on the back? There is a hole in the back of where the bolt goes into the adapter plate so I figure it should be ok but not sure.
