Broke down in the DC metro area

Broke the throttle cable on my motorhome yesterday and am stranded in Annandale, VA. This specific part is no longer made so I need to find a shop that can make a new cable in my old housing. I've called about 12 places already this morning. Anyone in the area know of a shop that does that type of work?

Try giving Tim Barber a call @ "TRE Diesel" over in Virginia Beach, Va. He is one of our Banner Advertisers here, he is a great guy and may be able to help you.

Here is his number: (757) 831-7451

How long does it need to be?

I broke one on an old Dodge Gasser.
Cut the sheath back, made a loop in the old one, and an 'extension' out of a coat hanger.
It ran that way for years until I traded it.

Thanks guys. Did a little bit of cut, drill, crimp, and improvise and I think/hope I got it pieced together enough to get me to the family reunion in the Adirondacks. I have a feeling that I may be doing some redesign to improve the serviceability of this system or at least building myself a spare cable kit.

John, appreciate Tim's info. He's about 200 miles from where I am but I'll probably call him once I get to NY to see if he has any better sources for parts than what I currently have.

Ed, thanks for the idea and the PM.

I'm about to take it on a 450 mile test drive so we'll see how I did.
