Boost fitting - Where does this go?

My orignial BD Torque Dog apparently lost its program so I exchanged it for a Torque Dog Plus. This one has a 3-position switch and came with a brass fitting I assume to be for the boost system. The instructions list this part in the bill of materials but don't mention it anywhere else. Anyone know where it goes? Thanks. ???

I would anticipate it is for trucks that have an aftermarket turbo like the PDR HX40 installed. Those have a pressure fitting on the compressor snail that controls the wastegate, and you install the bleeder elbow to raise the pressure at which the wastegate opens.

Sounds like a "boost elbow" that would be used to raise boost pressure on manual trans trucks. That setup would not work for you if you have an auto.

Re:Boost fitting - Where does this go?

Thanks for the replies. Now another question on this: Why can't the boost elbow be used on a truck with an automatic transmission?

I believe it is because on the auto it is hard lined. I know on my 6 speed it is a flex line. I don't know why.

The elbow will work on your truck. The hardline wastegate didn't get used untill 01.

Isn't the boost elbow actually a fooler to keep the computer from seeing the higher boost numbers? I thought that the computer would balk at anything more than 20#'s?

The boost elbow hooks to the compressor side of the turbo and bleeds off pressure to the wastegate. A boost fooler hooks to the map sensor & doctors the signal to the computer to trick it in to thinking it has a lower pressure. Most of the performance boxes have the fooler built in, or you can just buy a fooler.
