Can a boost elbow be installed in a 2002? I just purchased a Comp and reading the instructions my turbo doesn't look anything like the descriptions read. I don't see a hose coming out of the turbo. Can anyone give me better instructions?

 

No, the boost elbow cannot be used on a 2002 with an automatic transmission.
The turbo doesn't have an "elbow" but a hardline wastegate.

There are a couple of solutions available:

The turnbuckle. (Edges website has a picture and instructions)

The .22 shell (empty of course) inserted into some hose to block it. (no idea, never seen pics or instructions, just heard of it)

The Turbomaster (many discussions, even an article on installation and use, accesible from the main page of this website, left side, under "Recent Articles&quot.
IMHO, the best solution is the Turbomaster, as it is adjustable.

I always get confused which turbo is which, but I think our trucks came with a HY35, no wastegate elbow, the standard transmission trucks came with the HX35, with the elbow.
(or vice versa )

How are you guys tapping into the electrical? The comp comes with a metal piece that you use with the #17 fuse but it sure was a pain to get it in. It works but I don't like the setup very much.

Also, my check engine light is now on. How can I get rid of that?
