Blinking lights on dash;only one brake light
Blinking lights on dash;only one brake light
Having a problem with the 04. The other day a light on the dash started blinking while the wife was driving the truck and I was following, can't tell which one it is as my dash lights are screwed up in my info center. After that I noticed that the only brake light that was working was the passenger side. the driver and third lights were out. Fast forward a few days to today and it starts doing it right away and the same lights won't work at all even after a restart which they did the first time. I assume that one of the bulbs is bad...but why does that make one of the other not work? Are they on the same circuit?
Not enough info , the brake lights are not directly connected to others , but sometimes I've seen a element in the bulb [ one that has 2 elements , brake & riding light ] touch the other & do odd things , also the connector on either the bulb or socket , get messed up , then depending some systems will see a dead bulb & give a warning on dash - but that needs to be confirmed .
Test and replace the bulbs not lighting , then see if the dash lights go out , but have them checked also , may not be related , dash & brake lites .

Thanks for the reply.
It turned out that both the third and drivers side brake lights were burned out. I am guessing that the third light burned out some time ago but since I got my job last January and the company truck that came with it I have hardly driven it so I didn't notice. As for the "driver info center," one of the display lines broke or burned in two over a year ago and has made it so you can't read anything on the odometer-DIC side and the gear indicator shows two gears selected.
