Angry Big Problems !!

First off before I get to the problem...I have been having a stronger than normal smell of diesel fuel for the past couple days checked the oil levels looked for leaks all normal. Well today i'm driving down the road and came up to a stop light, there was a guy next to me honking so I rolled the window down to see what he needed, He told me that I was leaking diesel all over the place from under the truck...I thanked him and proceeded to pull off the road to check the problem.

Low and behold fuel is blowing out the vent tube under the truck coating diesel fuel everywhere !!! Checked the oil level and it was way up there.

Is this a stuck injector or something else????

Sounds like an injector gone bad. I don't have any first hand knowledge, just what I've read. I would not drive the truck any more.

I agree, DO NOT drive the truck any more as it could cause very expensive damage. It could well be an open injector. Hope it is under warranty. In addition to repairing wahtever is causing fuel to leak into the crankcase, you wlil need an oil and filter change.

I hope I didn't do any serious engine damage...I might have been driving for like 15 miles before the guy informed me of the leak. I immediately shut it down and called for a tow.

Even if there s no obvious problems ie no mechanical noises, good oil pressure etc, I would still take the oil filter, drain it and then cut it open and check for metallic particles.

I towed home a buddy last night with the EXACT same problem, here is what we found, the vp44 inner seal had developed a leak, it lost a ton of fuel into the crank case shoving the oil out the vent. he was POSITIVE he just burned a piston, well lowe and behold it is only a seal and no pump replacement will be necessary.....looked REAL bad though

Still waiting to hear from the Dealer on what the problem is, one thing is for sure....there was diesel fuel completely coating all of the under carriage of the truck as well as the tailgate what a nasty mess. Funny thing the truck ran fine..no symptoms other than the heavy fuel smell.

I'm thankful that this happened near my work and wasn't towing my car hauler at that time.

Will post back results.
