Ball joints won't budge
I cannot for the life of me, get these ball joints to budge. I lubed them with pb blaster for two days. Tried some heat today too. Nothing is helping. Is there anything that I am forgetting or might help?? I need the darn truck bythe end of the week! Sigh... Can't post picts from an iPhone
I wish I was as fine, as those who work the pipeline!

There are some write ups in the 2nd gen section. I'll see if I can find them...
what tools are you using?
trying to bang it out with a chunk of pipe and a hammer? or a quality ball joint press?
need to know.
gotta get a quality BJ press and a good impact. if you don't have one.

I agree you need a good ball joint remover and installer, the 5 lbs sludge wont cut it.
dont take it to a shop!! if you got the wheel bearings out you got the worst part of the job done! just let them soak with the pb blaster on them for a bit there is nothing holding the in besides rust and pressure holding them in make sure you have the correct size cups and let the impact wail on then biatches they will move! don't give up now!

I'm sure somebody will tell me im wrong but I ended up cutting the centers out of my 03 with the torch. Just make sure you find somebody real good with a torch that axle aint cheap and you WILL have a fire. Burning grease and rubber makes a mess. If your quick the heat makes the new ones easier to install, but too much heat will mess up the axle C.
check for snap rings, make sure you're pushing the correct direction and heat the axle flange to expand it then push with a BJ press- they can get really stuck in there but that is pretty much the process the shop will use.
