Bad surging problem...apps?

I`m headed to Missouri this afternoon, And I need to figure this out. I keep throwing a p0236 code, which is map sensor voltage too high. I have the new tunes on my adrenaline, and haven`t had a problem with surging until I took my truck to the dealership last week to have the 3 cylinder idle enabled. Now on every level but plo1 it surges.

It`ll happen really bad on plo6 and higher while cruising down the highway at 65. When i`m continuously pressing the peddle down to go faster its fine, but when i back off and hold it at a certain cruising speed it surges.

Another thing I noticed, is I have a smoke switch, and before when I was in Plo3 or higher when I engaged it, it would make my throttle really touchy, and change my exhaust pitch...I suppose adding more fuel.

Anyone have any idea what is going on? Is something going on with my apps?

look at your fca on the cp3.
mine did the same thing when backing off at 70mph.
watch your rail pressure while driving for fluctuations

Quad thinks its a firmware problem, cause it doesnt exist when i`m in pl00 pl01 and pl02. Only when the wire tap comes into play. I`m sending it in when I get home.

I keep throwing a p0236 code
Gonna try and help where I can.

The 0236 code is not really a boost too high code. That would be 0237 or the famous "overboost" code.

0236 = Boost too high for too long.

This does not actually require your boost to be very high at all, just higher than expected for a long period of time. There are several things that can cause this.

1.) Map sensor is bad and it is giving a bad reading to the high side. You can check this by looking at the boost gauge on the Adrenaline agains your Isspro gauges. If we are noticeably higher than the analog then that could easily be both of your issues.

2.) You have intake or turbo mods and it is allowing you to cruise with more boost than the ECM thinks you should. This is very common with bigger turbos, especially twins.

The fix for that is to not set cruise or maintain a 100% dead steady cruise for too long. Vary it just a little and the ECm will reset its counter for that parameter.

If the map sensor has gone bad that could also be the cause of your Adrenaline surging. If we think you have more boost than you really do we could easily be fueling too much, causing it to surge.

Either way, the firmware is a good thing to do and it really does smooth things out and makes it less violent, so do it while you can but, that may not solve your problem if you have an underlying issue.

Hope that helps.

Qzilla,
I had this problem with my stock hy35 also. My boost gauge on the adrenaline is about 5psi lower than my analog gauge. If i flip my "smoke switch" it`ll read 62 psi on the box, but it surges either way. I hooked up a obdII scanner, and my map is reading 13.7psi at idle, which is correct.
