Death Wobble

My 01 did the samething. It is called the dodge death wobble. I replaced the track bar and one of the steering components that had play in it. No problem after that. Have a buddy turn the steering side to side and watch for movement in any of the joints.

Specfically the top of the trac bar. Its a ball joint located under the driver side of the frame behind the wheel. There should be no play when you turn the wheel slightly side to side. Whatch it while someone wiggles the steering wheel. I'm willing to bet you'll see the cup move up and down a whole lot on that ball. I'd suggest getting the 03 tracbar conversion. I also went with duel steering stablizers and havnt had any wobble ever since.

buy lukes link and save money, the Lukes link joints are rebuildable for like $8 bucks. If you replace just the OEM trac bar with another OEM trac bar it cost like $175 bucks with lukes link just by a rebuild kit and be done with it. if your running bigger tires then the trac bar will wear out faster then normal.

What tires are you running. I had the same problem and had basically everything in the front end replaced. then decided to put my stock tires back on (had bfg all-terrain 315) and the death wobble was gone, now i have a set of 305 toyos and still no death wobble.

Get the tires off the ground and move the tire in and out you must have a worn joint somewhere.

Check the link out it tells you all about them

http://www.lukeslink.com/trackbar.html

it's all about rebuilding you tracbar for $16.00 bucks instead of $175.00 for a whole tracbar.

BTW it works for ALL the front end joints!
