Another stall won't start

I have same problem as Imbodie. Driving along and it stuttered like a gasser. Stopped at traffic light and it died and will not start. I checked codes and it has thrown none. I did fuel filter drain and get fuel out. When I checked lift pump, you could hear the filter cannister gurgle till all of the air was out so I assume that lift pump is filling filter housing. My fuel gauges shows 1/8 tank. I wonder if water in tank is registering on gauge and not being picked up by lift pump. I am stumped! waiting on wrecker to haul me home.

Well, Had a buddy bring me 2 gallons of fuel, cracked the 1,3 &4 injectors and get fair fuel at each and it still isn't cranking. Any ideas?? I am guessing that the impeller on the lift pump has bought the chihuahua and am not getting sufficient flow to VP to fire off the injectors properly.

waitingforawrecker,

Gary

PS still no codes thrown

my problem

Well...
I'm in North West Arkanas and had just gone down a hill and was on my way back up when the truck died.... I think whoever posted the possibility of sucking some air up was correct....

I'd add more than just 2 gallons... ( I was going for 10 gallons, but could only get a 5 gallon container)

I cracked 1, 3 and 4, I believe only 4 purged... but it let me start.
Also, the fuel filter was FILTHY... I'm making it a point to change at 15k from now on.

Good luck... hope it wasn't anything to $$$ and that some extra fuel gets you going.

Changed filter, working on new lift pump install and hopefully b4 midnight tonite I will have the beast running again. Wrecker fee home cost me 160 clams, new lift pump 180 clams, new filter 15 clams. This was an EXPENSIVE day, and I did not get anything accomplished as far as the reason I drove 60 miles from home. Got to ride in a 97 Duramax wrecker. Was not overly impressed on how it acted with my 8000#+ truck on the hook, but the interior sure looks nice and is comfortable......LOL

WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSEEEEE me, I was so distraught from shelling over the wrecker fee, it took 10 years off my life....LOLOL It was an '07 maxipad. Seats sure were comfortable in that wrecker too. Maybe I can find a set to replace my worn out Dodge seats....
