Air Bag Light 2006 Dodge 3500

Hello All,

The other day while adjusting the captain's chair in my 2006 Dodge 3500, the air bag light went off, and has not reset itself since. I pulled some fuses, and it reset for a few moments, but it came right back on. The seat is in its normal position, and isn't too close to the steering wheel.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this without having to bring it to the dealership...no warranty.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have the side curtain air bags? Check all the connections under the seat. make sure none of them came unplugged. Then re-check. The air bag almp will shut itself off with each key reset if the problem has been resolved. The code will stay in the computer for awhile, but the light will be off when everything is fixed. ( after one key cycle)

No side curtains

No, I have no side curtains, and we looked over all of the connections under the seat, and even reset the fuses. Still no go. Anyone else?

O.K. check body codes by turning the key on while holding the trip/reset button. That should make any body codes appear inthe odo screen. Write them down , there may be more than one. They may also show by stting the e-brake, and turn key off to on 4 times ending in the on position. Show in the odo screen as well.

Once I do this, where do I get the corresponding codes from and what do I do with them once I find them??? Remember, I'm new to all of this, thanks though.

There is a differnet procedure for checking body codes than powertrain codes? i thought all codes were displayed with off on 3x???

You could also try unplugging the battery to let the computer reset....

I'm not 100% sure on the newer ones, but that's how it works on my 03.

The light went out on its own. I had the tech try to recreate the situation, and to no avail...oh well, thanks for your help all.
