this truck has never had trouble other than ecm computer at 130,000 mi. current mileage 240,000. parked truck after normal week of commuting running fine. went to start it ran
for a very short time and quit after about an hour of priming as required by the manual removed inlet pipe from lift pump to filter housing no fuel pressure. replaced lift pump (would like to meet the designer of that system in a dark alley for a few minuets) now i have positive pressure at outlet of the filter still wont start. HOW CAN I GET THIS SYSTEM PRIMED PLEASE HELP BEFORE I START CUTTING THE TRUCK UP AN SELLING IT ON E-BAY THANKS JOHN ??? ??? ??? ???

 

You did not say if the check engine light is on. Check your codes. If the pump is ok, loosen at least two injector lines at the head and crank on it till clean fuel comes out. Tighten them and start it up.

 

the check engine came on during the last five attemptes i have not tried again but will try opening a cople of the injector lines. many thanks john

 

John you better check them codes, the check engine light does not usually come on with air in the system or a bad lift pump. Those codes will probably tell you what is wrong.

 

When are you going to start putting parts of your truck on E-Bay??? I would like to get some replacement parts for my truck!!! ;D

 

Did you try craking the #1 and #3 injectors. Those seem to work the best for my truck when I run it dry.

 

THANKS TO ALL WHO OFFERED HELP. IT SEEMS THAT WHEN I INSTALLED THE LIFT PUMP I ACCIDENTLY DISCINNECTED A WIRE CONNECTION FROM ECU TO INJECTOR PUMP. OH WELL IN ANY CASE THE OLE' BROAD IS BACK AMONG THE LIVING.
