Hoping it's just a cut wire.

Shop says Injector pump. Replaced pump and mechanic hooked Edge back up. All is fine now. I'll be installing a pressure gauge to monitor fuel pressure @ the lift pump. TAKE NOTE: This is very good advise for all you VP44 guys out there. I only wish I knew that sooner.

A FP gauge is a very good idea and I highly recomend it but...
I can tell you from first hand experience it probably would not have stopped your VP from packing it in.
My gauge read 14psi when mine died.(3rd 5x5 pull)
Many early (98-99) VPs died within seconds of 5x5. On a positive note, you shouldnt have to worry about your pump now. I learned of this issue from this site and when I was pricing out my Comp the first vendor I went to( Valley Fuel Injection, BD ) told me they had not heard of this problem ( man I hate it when a guy can look me in the face and outright lie to me) My next stop was (Piers) and he said he would be suprised if my pump DIDNT die as most early ones did. He also said they have had very few problems with the newer pumps so....Two vendors and two oposite storys, go figure. Anyway sorry to hear about your loss but glad to hear your up and running again
