98.5 Dodge codes 0121 & 0602

Several months ago receieved codes #P-1693,#P-0602 ECM Fueling calibration in error & code# 0121 TPS voltage does not agree with Map.
Slight hesitation at the time while at freeway speeds. Now recently again I have check engine light every three days or so, with same code 0121 & 1693.
This time more hesitation up to 5 sec, seams like 30 sec and no throttle at freeway speeds. is this truck ready to drop dead, or can I still use it?
After the hesitation it does go again like nothing happened, except the codes. I reset with microtuner by Superchips and start again.
Is there a plug & play part for this repair, or does it require a more serious repair by qualified cummins tech? Any advise that is good

Most often when you start getting multiple errors related to the TPS and the ECM you will find that one of the clips or ends of the transmission throttle valve cable has slipped or broken. So, rule that out first.

Then go to the Tech Facts section, above, and look up the APPS reset procedure, and do the reset on your APPS.

If the codes return, then it is time to clean the throttle position sensor. There is an excellent article on this site, complete with photos, as to how to do that. Do a search and follow the links.

Also, make sure that all your connectors and sockets in the engine compartment are clean and lubed with dielectric grease. There are still some people that wash these engines with pressure washers, and that will create no end of ghosts to chase until all the corrosion and fuzz that forms in those connectors is cleaned away.

Because you have a VP44 equipped engine, if the problem is not found in any of the above, then it is time to keep a close eye on your fuel pressure from the lift pump to the injection pump. If the fuel pressure remains good during the hesitation periods, and the problems and codes continue, it may well be time to replace the VP44.

Exact same problem with 2001

I am having the exact same problem with my 2001 CTD. I have a stage 3 Hyper Tec programmer installed in mine. It jerks at 3/4 to wide open throttle. Changed lift pump and fuel filter. Still setting codes P0602 and P1693. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
