96 Dodge ram 5.9 cummings

Batteries almost dead..8 volts...I did not leave and lights on....got the truck started Alt is charging around 14 volts....going to have the batteries checked...but is their a known short that someone can guide me to....Thanks from Key Largo

how old are the batteries? i just posted a similiar question about 2 weeks ago. after about 4 years , my batteries just are shot. simple as that.

bad cell in one of the batteries...killed the other..Just replaced both...will know tonight....thanks

if nothing was left on . and the batteries check out fine.. the relay for the heater stick on with a small draw. this would drain the batteries over night!
also the starting system needs a lot of power when starting. so if the batteries are old. its worth replacing them anyways. bad batteries can cause a ton of stupid problems.
