Exclamation 7 dealers can't be wrong!!!

Ok, no power under load .... engine light for sensors going whacko and a misfire, turbo no higher than 14psi .... ok, fixed all the trouble codes and NO lights now ... did not help the other things , replaced turbo and got boost back, still have a severe misfire and it gets bad enough that the truck backfires and refuses to go anywhere .... 7 dealers all tell me there is NOTHING wrong with my truck .... 6 months old and dead.

and to top that off, I took it to the local dealer on monday and thursday nite they call and tell me that they are in way over thier heads and could I take it to another dealer about 60 miles away!

could this be an injector?

And where can I find a friggin Diesel Mechanic at that know how to work on this truck?

almost forgot:

2005 3500 DRW 6SPeed 4X4 610 Common Rail, Edge Juice w/ Attitude Monitor, HTT .62 Turbo. Truck Built 06/05 , Bought in 08/05 and problems started 10/05.

yeah...I guess 7 dealers can be wrong. I would take it to another dealer for warranty reasons. althought having 7 dealers say that nothing is wrong would make me weary of taking it to another dealer. maybe a cummins shop?

Where do you live? There are some real good mechanics in southeast Virginia.

The sad part is most of the times the cummins shops cant fix the problem as easy as everyone thinks.Alotof these shops are not equiped to deal with the chrysler eletronics. Ive had to fix many dodge based cummins diesels that have come from the "cummins shop"

I would tell them that I brought my truck to them to get fixed. If they can't do it then get someone there that can or have them it taken to someone that can fix it. It is all about customer service, and it sounds like you have had none. They only tell you that they can't fix it. Why won't they check around and find someone that will fix it and take it to them?

Good point. The service writer at Cummins Southern Plains told me over a year ago that Chrysler had already told them that they would be reciving less and less diagnostic and test programs. Seems like another move to make more and more people have to go to the dealers for service.

.....you forgot the important part. "bought in 08/05, INSTALLED EDGE JUICE, problems started 10/05. Most likely you have created your own problems.

The service manager at Cummins Mid South here in Birmingham told me that he can't even hook up to a newer Dodge. They don't have the correct cables, software or training because Dodge has been buying the Cummins engine WITHOUT any software, software support or WARRANTY. The software is a Dodge product only! It's written by Dodge and serviced by Dodge and the engine warranty is soly a Dodge product. The Dodge techs that post here should be able to help you. They should have access to more info than anybody on the newer products.

I agree, but they should at least be able to tell him what is wrong. I would be suprised to see it covered by the warranty (would hae to be a really cool dealer)

At least one dealer was honest and told him they couldn't help before they kept his truck for a couple weeks. I've got at least four dealers in Birmingham and none are good with diesels tweaks.

Lose the Edge for now, post information on the codes and what was found. Why was the turbo replaced? There is too little information on this truck to go on and if you have been to 7 dealer, you have a lot of history.

No boost and No power sounds to me like a fuel related issue, since fuel=boost on down the line. Fuel filter? Lift pump? Injection pump? The backfiring usually points to a timing issue, and from my understanding it is controlled in the ECM. Have the dealer hook up a test ECM maybe? I would pull the edge first.

You would have to pull all the aftermarket gadgets and start from scratch, and YES, that I would charge for.

This is a llllooooonnnngggg shot but check that "chaffing wire" problem near the A/C compressor. Do a search for "chaffing wire" and there is a great thread that has helped A LOT of 2004.5 owners.
