If you have seen more than one dealer and cannot find the trouble, take the truck to a Cummins Service Center and get it analyzed. Yes, it will cost close to $300, but when they are done you will have an answer as to where the problem most likely resides.

What the Cummins Service Center can do is disconnect the Edge and the OEM PCM, and then will diagnose the actual condition of the fueling system based on their parameters. If the problem is in the Edge or PCM, Cummins will not find it, but neither will most dealers without throwing parts at the problem.

Unfortunately, with the fueling system modifications you list it is doubtful that any Dodge dealer will honor the powertrain warranty, so you are likely on your own anyway.

This one is even better ,

Dodge Just Voided My Warranty for having a Gear Vendors Aux Trans Installed, And they Will not unvoid the warranty, This will be the LAST Dodge I EVER Own, thanx for the help but I'm driving it to the dealer where I purchased it and handing them the keys, I WILL NOT PAY FOR JUNK. and since dodge financed it, well they can be stuck with it!

I have also been in contact with my local lemon law attorney regarding this truck.

Take it back, change the motor, dodge is crap, blah, blah, blah

When your done with your little temper tantrum and can ask intelligent and articulate questions come on back and we'll be happy to help.
It is clear at this point you are not even receptive to any suggestions from the members of this board....

EXCELLENT!

You were offered several suggestions on how to correct the problems you are having. Did you try ANY of them?

The dealer near my house is not very Diesel savy but they try real hard to work on it and get it fixed..

When they have a question or something they don't understand they just call in the area Dodge Rep to diagnose the problem.

I think this service is avaliable to all Dodge dealers isn't it??

dont dealers usually outline the warranty for you before you buy the truck? i think most factory warranties are voided by aftermarket installations not done by the dealership.

I will look for the link to the site later when i have more time, but here is a fact: federal law states that a warranty can NOT be voided just by installing aftermarket parts, unless the aftermarket part(s) were directly responsible for the problem.

For example, if you have an aux. trans, and your radio stops working, its not because of the aux. trans, so Dodge would have to cover the radio. But if the aux. trans had a gear reduction, (instead of overdrive), and the extra torque caused the rear u-joints to go bad, then they wouldn't have to cover the u-joints.

But if there is a problem with the PCM, and they can connect it to the Edge, then you will be paying for repairs.

Back around 1984/85 I had a Dodge D-50. I had purchased an extended warranty witch was actually an insurance policy..

The timming chain broke on it causing som epretty significiant damage to the valve train and 1 piston.

The Insurance company denied my claim and blamed it on not following the proper maintence schedule (I know not the same as aftermarket parts).

I spoke to a few people and they suggested that i go to small claims court. The trick to this was I didn't sure Dodge or the dealer I went to the county records department and found the president/owner of the dealership and sued him. I also had the Sheriff's dept deliver the supoena to the owner.

Within 2 days of owmer being served he personally called me in a rage. He demanded that I stop the proceding against him and file against the insurance/warranty company.. I told him .... Nope you sold it to me so you are responsible, Fix the truck and have it back to me before the court date or I'll see YOU there.

Because it was small claims he could not send a lawyer but had to show up himself.. He had the truck repaird within 2 weeks and I paid for the fluids that were agreed upon in the contract.

You can basically sue anyone any time for anything... If you make it as hard on the "big guy" as his workers made it on you you may just get it taken care of.. Sometimes the Squeeky wheel gets the oil.

In this case I didn't whine at the dealer get into a pissing match they told me the warranty was no good I asked them to explain why, thold them they were wrong and neede to fix the truck.. they laughed and told me they wern't going to fix it.. Said fine walked out and straight to the court and filed.

This also worked for a friend of mine a short time later at a toyota dealership, and his was not the dealer he bought the truck at.

The main thing is when the owner called I didn't get upset just gave him back what is service writer gave me.. "fix it or show up in court" and I hung up on him. within the hour he called back and agreed to fix it.. if I dropped the court case first.. Told him I would drop it when I got the truck back.

Ya never know it is worth a try

Gerry - that's a great idea - I never thought of suing the actual owner, not the dealership.... Thanks for sharing that with us - now I just hope I never have to use it !!!
