Guys i'm knew to the forum but my 05 dodge 2500 QC with striaght pipe and airiad air filter and quadzilla race box is acting wierd basically the turbo is sounding tottally different, at low speeds its like a high pitch droan and at high speeds or when i open the throttle it sounds like turbo is working too hard. The turbo whisle is not constant or the same pitch. Should I be worried could my turbo be going out?

 

Take the intake hose off and see if it turns by hand , then grab the shaft nut and wiggle it in & out this seems to be the most important to have the least amount of play , maybe just a few thou.[ .003-.009] ,then up & down ,side to side ,this is where you can have a little more play ,maybe .010-.020 , these are just my experance not spec. someone will probly have those here soon. one thing that I do is listen to the ex. when then eng. is shut off , listen for air movment at tail pipe , if you hear it good and if it takes longer to spool down better.
