30 pounds and still down?

Is it possible to read 30 PSI at the filter inlet and still not get fuel? Been getting harder to start for about the last 4 months , if it sits for a day or 2. Now refuses to start so I took out the top banjo at the filter, that comes from the injector pump return and replaced it with a pressure guage. Read 30 psi turning the engine with the starter,so I put it back. I gotta believe the lift pump is OK, but if I remove the filter out line and press the primer button all I get is foam.

You could have a leak on the suction side of the lift pump. Good foamy pressure won't run the engine.

Re:30 pounds and still down?

Use a small 12 volt pump in the filler neck. Block off the mouth and apply the pressure. With the pressure applied, have someone check along the lines to find the air leak.

Small vaccuum leaks will suck air but not leak fuel unless the fuel is under pressure.

I took the lift pump off and attach a vacuum guage. Should the pump hold a vacuum? Tony

If you plug the inlet, the lift pump will hold a vacuum at the outlet. If not, it is time for a replacement.
