2000 5.9 L Keeps accerlating about 100 RPM perodically between 45 & 55 MPH??

At 1st I thought is was missing. Then I start watching the RPM Guage and seen that it was actually Bumbing up about 100 to 150 RPM for just a split sec. Make it feel liks it is cutting out. I think is is something with the speed sensor? When i accerlate fairly hard and steady, it will not do it. But when it is slow accerlation it start it between 45 and 55 MPH ??? I thought it was athe Fuel Injector Pump or the Lift pump, when I thought it was missing. Also I did the key thing on,off,on,off,on and it shows NO codes at all?

DON DAVIS here in Lake Jackson Texas wanted $ 4,000.00 Less taxes for a new lift pump and injector pump.(DO NOT USE THEM!!!) Ther are the same ones that said my Caddie needed a new $ 750.00 less labor, Computer and I got it fixed for $ 125.00 at another placelaboer and all.

Anyone got any Ideals what is wrong with my truck?

Sounds like a common problem in the 98.5's to '02s, especially in the 00-02 range. Most occurances of this are due to the TPPS sensor wiring on the transmission. What actually happens is the truck cannot decide if it wants to be in third or fourth gear, and the feeling you're geting is actually the torque converter locking and unlocking as the switch of the gears takes place. The problem actually stems from the factory wiring connectors that trap moisture and corrode, causing such problems. Another possibility is that you may be getting noise interference from the flunctuating voltage feeding off your alternator. First thing I would try is to do the following: Locate the black coated negative wire that runs just under the alternator (4 guage or 6 I believe). Wrap this wire in aluminum foil from where is is by the end of the alternator backing by the electrical connector back towards the firewall about 8 inches down. Next go over the aluminum foil with some good quality electrical tape (black), and make sure nothing is touching a hot spot. At first I thought this little trick was goofy, but I finally gave in and gave it a try, and my rig's been jolt free and running smooth every since (bout a year now). Hope this helps and good luck.

Thank you. I did notice that a few weeks ago, it rained really hard and the streets were follded. I ran through a long strech od water at abour 35-40 mph. Then my Volt guage just went to 0. When I got home I shut it off and restarted it and everything was fine. The jolting stopped for about a week after that. I suspected it was a sensor and not the injector Pump and the lift pump.
