06 4x4 3500 SRW Possible death wobble?
A friend of mine has this truck and has had this happen a 1/2 dozen times or more. The latest happened at 110km he went through dip in the road and all of a sudden he described it as it feeling like the frt wheels flapping back and forth. Kind of like when pushing a shopping cart and the frt caster's start to freak out and wiggle back and forth. He says the steering wheel does not really wobble around but says it is defiantly from the frt end. He had to slow down to 60km before the vibration went away. He says it is very violent and the dealer has no idea.
He's had a steering damper recall but it still has the one that clamps on with the u-bolts and bracket. He thought it would have a stud going through the center link instead of the bracket with u-bolts.
I thought the recall was supposed to fix his concern.
There is some play in the ball joints but in my mind not enough to cause this.
Thanks

Update.
I spoke to a few other mechanic's and they all asked if it had a steering damper (which it does) also some suggested not enough caster. I kind of agree and until I can get it in the shop any help would be welcome.

You need to have him get the front end up in the air and see what is loose.
None of mine have ever death wobbled, even with loosy goosy front ends, but I do have the max Caster dialed in though.
