01' takes forever to warm - up

01' takes forever to warm - up

my 01' seems to take way to long for the temp to come up on the guage any ideas?????

Mine just depends on the outside temps. Here the morning temps have been @60 and it will take a few miles to get up to operating temp. During the winter it can take as much as 7-10 miles before she's where she needs to be.

Maybe your T-stat is stuck open?

this morning it was 35 out and it never got to op temp after 40 minutes of running

I'd check your T-stat. I had to replace mine at 170K.

How long is "way to long"? Mine seems to take a good 10 minutes or more of idleing to get just to the bottom of the normal range on the gauge (which is 140 degrees). Then at least another 5 minutes or so of driving to get to the normal operating spot.

Opps, i guess I'm too slow. I've been beat. 40 minutes? Yeah, I'd check your T-stat. It might be sticking.

x4 on the T-Stat. Mine did the same thing, new tstat solved the problem.

i think i have the same problem i went to houston and back in my 99 auto i have the edge juice with attitude and the records showed it never got over 175 havnt pulled the housing yet but pretty sure mine is stuck open as well
