01 "Surging 1800 to 2100 r.p.m"..Help?
My 2001 cummins is giving me trouble again!
Two weeks ago we put 50hp injectors in this girl,because of a miss I was having. That took care of the miss(note:also had harmonic balancer break,WOW never seen that before i posted pictures so everyone could see).
With all that fixed and up and running again late last week. I started to notice
a surge in the motor, tach shows just a slite hesitation about 1800 r.p.m to 2200 r.p.m. After that she runs out good.
Its like driving into a real strong head wind!
I have a scheduled flow test for next week for this girl, but I'm not shore that will tell me anything? Does anyone have any ideas??????????Thanks for looking.

Could be feeling torque convertor locking and unlocking if your truck is automatic. Does RPM go up slighly when it happens?

i am having a simular issue with my 2002 and i have an auto but the problem happens around the 1200 to 1500 rpm range while cruising between 30 and 40 as i accel the rpms go down and when i decell rpms jump up and then drop and only in third gear and overdrive off i have replaced the apps three times i have replaced both factory lift pumps and now have a 95/150 fass lift pump and have also replaced the injection pump.also do not have any chips or mods. i have heard that the trans is getting signal interferance from the alternator and that i need to add a ground wire from alt to batt negative? any thoughts?
