Exclamation 0 Fuel pressure but still drives well

Not sure, but I think it may be time far a new lift pump!
I'm getting 0 pressure on my Juice with attitude guage (set on stock)
I just installed it and there is no pressure, but it runs fine, drives fine.
Am I over looking anything?
Please help!

First of all, double check with a manual guage. Go from there. May just be a connection issue with the juice. Go from there.

Install a permanant mechanical guage in the cab. What year is this truck??

If you do in fact have 0 fuel pressure - I wouldnt drive it too far. Injector pumps arent cheap.

When is the last time you changed your fuel filter?

The Cummins will run fine with zero fuel pressure because the injection pump will suck fuel from the tank.
Problem is it doesn't suck enough to provide excess for return which lubes and cools the pump.
Expensive injection pump will eventually die without proper fuel pressure.

Many folks without a fuel pressure gauge don't find out their lift pump is dead until they change the fuel filter or otherwise break open the fuel system.
When you open up the system air is introduced, without a functioning lift pump the injection pump will airlock. It won't start.

The truck is a 2001.
Thanks for the idea of checking the connection.
It just seems weird to me, to have no puel pressure but the truck pulls up a 12%grade hill every day to get home and has no stumbling or dead throttle what so ever.
I should consider myself lucky not to have blown my injector pump.
I'll hook a mechanical guage and re-check the pressures.
Everyonce in awhile, i'll see a 1 Lb. but for the most part, it says 0 all the time.
Guess I better drive my wife's grocerie getter till I get it sorted out.

The fuel filter was changed the same day O put the juice with attitude in. Last weekend.
10 miles on it. That's why I'm so concerned about the pressures. I have never had a pressure guage on the truck prior to putting the Juice in the truck last Sunday.

I can hear the pump running when I key the ignition for about 35 seconds.
could this mean the pump is working but there still could be a problem?
I just ordered a replacement pump and will pick it up today from Napa

I have a mechanical guage plumbed into the line so I can pop the hood and double check my Quad Commander reading ( pretty well known for being wrong! or senders failing). I would make sure what the pressure is before replacing the pump. Might save some cash. Especially if the pump is running.........

Adding a guage to the line is a good insurance policy.
Nothing has ever been done to this truck prior to my purchasing it three years ago. Everything is origional except maintenance stuff and brakes and tires. The truck has 135K on it and I have NEVER had an issue with it at any point till now.

The NAPPY pumps are just the same "carter" pump. Since it sound like you're going to replace it anyhow, IMO, any other lift pump is an improvement... a waste of time/$$$ if your going back w/the same pump.

Those pumps can run but not move fuel. Get an air dog or fass, or even a holley, Aeromotive with a regulator and put it on the frame just forward of the tank.
I went thru 5 before I got smart. All that money could of been towards a fix!!!!
I'm using an Aeromitive 1000 with regulator. 13-16 ALL THE TIME.
