Will straight-piping it hurt performance?

straight piped...

I pretty sure that striaght piping did not create the problems you got unless the is a sensor in the exhuast system. Look around at the piping and see if the sensor is there. (I doubt it...)

or what came out...

Double check yourself... I really don't think the piping did anything... Check for codes...

As for the dealer and warranty... My dealer likes the way it turn out and sounds great... As a matter of fact she is planing on putting in a set of Dipricol gauges and straight piping her 2005 Cummins...

I going to find out if she join the group here...

How would the vehicle know if you straight pipe... especially the blinkers and ABS... are there sensors anywhere past the turbo?

Yeah I know it's the weirdest thing. I didn't touch the cats/resonators/sensors...nothing. All I did was mess with the muffler. And then the lights came on like that....ABS light, engine malfunction light, and the blinkers quit working. A little later the ABS and blinkers came back, but the engine light stayed on. Today all of the warning lights went back off again, but my fuel economy is noticeably worse now. So I don't know what the deal is. I guess these little turbo diesels do not respond to mods like the Cummins engines. Hopefully there will be some aftermarket stuff available soon...they'll test that stuff before they market it. Thanks for the help guys...
