Same thing no matter the temp. Bought it for the sound, but got a bunch on bonuses with it.

Drove my first one back in 1980, I know, I know, don't remind me. It was a 4 cylinder diesel pickup, 5 spd. stick, and "Made in Japan". A good friend of mine owned it and we used to take it on fishing trips to northern Ontario. We would start out with a full tank of fuel, run for 4 or 5 hours at 65 mph. and the needle on the fuel gauge would just be starting to come off the full mark. It didn't set any land speed records but it ran forever.

I liked them ever since and finally got one in 2002....

Because the Cummins motor sounds cool... And I get good fuel mileage... And if I wanted to, I could out tow any of my friend's gas powered trucks.

This actually came up quite a bit when i was shopping around for mine. I'd see some nice ones at a dealership and the salesman would always ask "What are you looking to tow?" I always had to give them some dumb response such as i needed it to tow my RX-7 to autocross events just to avoid a debate with him and giving him opportunity to have me look into a 1/2 ton. Happened with almost every dealer i talked to, i'm really gald i ended up waiting around and buying privately.

They always asked me that to Bcool. I'd tell them I was not sure but I was not gonna buy a half ton gasser and find out later that I needed to haul something Heavyand the half ton be useless. Kinda like I build stuff, overkill, so I originally wanted a one ton flat bed, but I could not resist this beautiful truck I found. I like it cause it rattles, blows smoke, smells, fuel makes your hands stink, it's loud goes where I want it to, pulls what I need to, my kids love it and have forgotten what a gas burner is....raising a bunch of diesel heads!! That about sums it up for me...

I got tired of wearing out gas motors and having a good body . We always had diesel farm tractors around and many were 30 years old and still going strong and even when they were tired a turn of the screw would get you back to horsepower with more smoke . I keep trucks a long time and at their cost it is the only way to go . Resale value even after many years , they sound cool , they are cool , why drive anything else ? ect......
