I got interested in diesel trucks because of my interest in making biodiesel and the need to pull our boats and other various trailers around. After the first truck had a fuel system that was a never ending nightmare, I decided that I wanted the most reliable engine I could get and that lead me to the 12V cummins.

I wanted to mod it. I didn't need it and still don't. When this dies or I get bored with it I'll probably get the M3 I wanted.

A few examples
Hate the truck it comes in.

Costs more to own than a gasser.
i.e. higher priced fuel, higher priced oil changes, heavier so you need higher priced tires. Bad past experiences with previous cummins versions (vp44, lift pumps, injectors)

I drive a Dodge that is powered by a Cummins because Cummins makes the best engine big or small in my opinion.

ok, what about the 7.3L Powerstroke. It is a medium duty engine also. It IS a T444E.

Not to put YOU on the spot, but I'm tired of this excuse, it isn't true by definition.

just wondering.

Actuall the 6.6 Duramax 7.3 and 6.0 powerstroke are all classified as light duty engines.

I drive a Cummins because the voices in my head tell me too.

Im quite sure the 7.3L is a medium duty engine, but not about the others. Actually the 7.3L is in quite a few med. duties.

because my dad bought one for himself in 2000 and as soon as i got my liscence i took it for a drive and i was like this thing is awesome, and he has towed a lot of crap with his, and its been super reliable for him,and it got awesome fuel economy , so when i turned 19 i decided i wanted to get my own cummins and for pulling my mower nothing gas that could pull it would get nearly what i get pulling my commercial mower, even havin 4.10's and 285's a gas job would probably get less than 10mpg towing it.
