Cool

Q: Why do folks buy HARLEYS ??

A: Because they are BIG, BAD, LOUD and PROUD !! THAT is why I bought my Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel!!

Besides, there's something NOT right with V-8 Diesels. They just sound like Edited by Admin
.

I also bought my truck as a Commuter. I commute 60 miles/day and twice/day thru heavy rush hour traffic.

Since I began driving my truck, I have NO MORE problems with ROAD RAGERS period! Wanna tailgate me ?? Go ahead and see if I care! Wanna eat a big, heavy metal trailer hitch ?!?! LMAO!! Wanna cut me off ?? See what happens next! Fortuately, I have NOT been cut off (1) time since I bought my truck (10) months ago!!!! I wonder why ??

The Peace of Mind I get driving my truck is PRICELESS!!!!

There simply is no better Urban Assault Vehicle than one of our trucks! Ok... "maybe" a Hummer. But then again, a Hummer can't haul anything!

I wanted a diesel for longevity and cuz I wanted to hotrod something. I wanted a longbed so I could put my bike in the back. I was hoping the cummins would prove to be ph4tty-proof but thats yet to be determined =P I didn't want a dually, but I found a great price on a 6 speed =P The previous owner did 145k in three years, so I consider the truck to be well broken in

Also see next on my wish list- road warrior mods

I bought mine cause I wanted a truck and the dodge was the loudest, most obnoxoius truck that was made.Afterwards I started using it as a highway mobile.I was so impressed with the reliability i bought another truck.I would never drive a car on the highway again. My buddy had a 01 2500 qc 24v and got into a major accident-head on at 70mph.He walked out of the truck by himself. Now I have never felt safer.Plus theres nothing like the power of a diesel.I will never own another truck unless it has a cummins in it

I have a 2000 2500 V8 gasser and with the modifications (lift, tires, gutless engine, etc.) its just not practical to drive everyday anymore especially at 7 mpg. I bought the 96 12v about a month ago to be my daily driver and tow rig for the other truck once I get a trailer. I also tend to haul a lot of stuff around in the bed and the other truck being lifted makes it a pain to put anything big or heavy in it.

haha, yea the trailer hitch is the best! Especially when I parallel park on the street, I have peace of mind knowing whichever fool parks behind me will never touch my rear bumper.

well, i clicked on the tow a travel trailer one, but I do not, but that comes as close to why I need one. I tow cotton and peanut wagons during that time of year, and load up with fertilizer some in other times of the year, then there is the occasional 5000-6000 lbs of scrap iron.

You obviously haven't been up on North 75 for a while then.

I agree, I got mine because they last forever, I liked the dodge body style, and as a farm kid I just might have to use it.

Now it gets driven to work and the occasional load in the bed. But I do have a gooseneck hitch and just itchin to pull.

My reasons too!

When my wife makes me go to the mall, I park anywhere I want and know that when I come out; 1- my truck is easy to find and 2- I won't have a door ding since car doors can't hit anything but nerf bars.

I have mine

i load it down super heavy at least once a year (25-30K) and i haul cattle with it (15-25K dependin on trailer) about four or five times a year when i help some ranchers with their herds, I tow a two horse when i rope on average two or three times a week, and I tow a bobcat every so often to the lease to do some cleanup. I also move stuff for people as favors or for extra cash,

I tow a good 20-30 percent of the year with the truck, and just drive it the rest of the time.... in either ways i make the truck useful,

Shame to have a cummins and not use it for its intentions every so often....

(see pics for details)

I bought mine to haul hay, horses, and my racecars I had at the time. Then I realized how much fun it is to run 12s in a big truck that I can still drive everyday, use in the winter and still tow with. We will eventually be buying another truck and getting rid of the car. I see no need to ever own another car.

to feel safe when i haul my 5ver, i was using a 05 1500 Q/C it pulled good, was within my load limits , but the bracking wasn't what i was comfortable with. coming off the creston/salmo summit the trailer brakes would smoke!! so i uptraded. ( and i always wanted one after i saw a guy who was fuled up sitting in front of me getting pi**ssed off at the poeple plugging up the road as they came outa church, he revved that sucker up burrying the chuchies in a billowing black cloud and i howled like crazy!! )

Well growing up dad had one and we've always been camping and of course their are Diesel trucks everywhere at Campgrounds. So, it was inevitable that one day I get one. I wanted one for about 2 years, and finally got it.

As I suspected. Most don't haul anything, just themselves to work and back.

Everytime I see a diesel pickup, where I live, that's not a farm truck, has a single driver or two in the front, no gear, no camper behind and going like the devil was chasing them.
