I just like it... especially the diesel. I don't tow and rarely load heavy.

Who drives a diesel truck just for fun?
Who drives a diesel truck just for fun?
Ok, I have been curious to find out how many other people out there are like me. I personally have a 3/4-ton diesel truck because I need to haul my dirt bike every once in a while; plus I like the engine. If it weren't for the Cummins, I probably won't own a full-size truck (maybe a Duramax). Sometimes I feel like I can't justify why I'm driving such a big vehicle. Uses more gas and maintenance costs are high. Of course having a truck is nice and often comes in handy but a 4-banger Toyota would get the job done too. Hope I don't get flamed for this. I don't support H2's because those things were made to suck gas, nothing more. While the Dodge Ram Cummins was made to work. Anyway, go ahead and vote. If you tow anything a few times a month (even for leisure activities) then consider having your truck for work.
Me! Me!
Had a Tacoma prior, the original style with only 2 doors and no room in the back seat.
Kids got too big to fit back there so I need something bigger.
Wanted something that would last and last with minimal upkeep.
Cummins fit the bill perfectly.
Oh, and when I got it, Diesel was averaging $.50 cents cheaper than unleaded.

Between working, fishing, hunting, and hauling----I think that I can justify having my truck. A 1500 will not even think about pulling my Dump Trailer let along hauling some of the things that I put back there!!!! Cummins/2500 is definatly a nedded thing!!!!
I drive my truck because I need it for work. A gas truck would work too but the mileage helps. If I didn't need a big truck I'd have a 4bt in a little toyota pickup or 4runner. I would still have to have a diesel.

I have to have a truck. I do to many things that cannot be done with a car, plus I have two diffrent trailer I pull. I pull at least one of them a week. I have had cars in the past, but have no use for one now.
I do feel like most people have trucks just to have a truck, especially seeing all the college kids driving them to class, so the mfg's are taking advantage of that and are not building trucks like they used to.
Was filling up yesterday and this huge F350 4X4 deisel pulls up with a cute liitle gal driving it. She could barely get out of it. There's no way she's going to use that thing for what it was intended for, but she sure looked good driving it.

Well, options 1 and 3 for me! I got my 95 a few years ago because I needed a truck that could handle working hard 4 days out of the week, and still get decent mileage to drive the rest of the time! I got the 98 this Summer because the BOMBing was making the 95 show it age, and I knew working it the way I was it wouldn't last as long...so I bought a Daily Driver and toy, but it'll still get used to haul my car around, and pull some machinery for work on occasion
I love the Cummins powered trucks

I might haul a four-wheeler or feed in the back of mine -- that'll be about it. I got it strickly because I love big trucks, and the only thing better than a big truck is a big truck with a diesel engine!!!
I didn't know I needed a truck till I got my first one... I won't be without one now...
but beyond that, I wish all of my vehicles had a Cummins 6 in them!!! yes, I drive my truck for fun... in fact, just about every day when I get home before the wife, I park the company van next to my truck, get out of the van, hop in the truck and go for a drive, even if I don't have anywhere to go
fuel and maintanence costs be darned... some people buy high end home entertainment stuff, some people buy high dollar fly rods and waste their time fishing, etc.
diesels are my hobby, you can't put a price on the things that make you happy

I do side work that needs the power... not too much. Maybe 1-2 a month I'm putting my 10k trailer to the truck. I just got tired of my 1/2 ton Z-71 not being able to move out of it's way, let alone pull a load.

) didnt have to worry about snow falls and getting to where I wanna go and lastly did I mention its loud
