Where do you dump old coolant?

I've got coolant in my catch pan from changing the coolant bypass hose (~1.5qt). Where can I dump this? I know stores frown upon other fluids being dumped into their oil dump so I don't wanna do that. What's the proper way?

Usually any gas station that does oil changes or dealership but they might charge you. Hazardous waste disposal sites will take also usually free of charge if you are a resident of that city.

In addition to those locations, auto parts stores such as Pep Boys and AutoZone will accept coolant at no cost to you. The following link for Earth 911 may help you find other locations in your area.

Some sewer districts don't mind you dumping it down the drain in small quantities.
Call and ask.

Already know the answer to that. I only live a half mile from the lake and in our city drainage thingies on the streets it says so, and no dumping

I'm talking about dumping down a toilet or sink, not a storm drain.
I hope your drain water goes though a sewage treatment plant before it goes in the lake.

Ohhhh...lol Sorry I totally missed that. I had a couple beers tonight and the pizza isn't offsetting them.

I'll see what I can dig up.

x 2 Sewage Plants are more than capable of handling a small amount of coolant.
