The best tires are made by the same guys that make the best oil................
Kinda a personal preference. Depends on a lot of factors. I like the BFG all-terrain ko tires for all around duty. They work well for me in just about any situation I find myself in. They wear well for me as well. I have around 30K on my set so far and they have a a lot of tread yet.

as stated depends on the situation and terrain..
IMHO, the best tire i have ever ran hands down was the toyo M55 on my 12v, in a 285/75/16 size. Those tires wore like iron, ten plies with 4 on the sides, had really good off road traction, yet not too aggressive, and even with 50K miles on the set when i sold the truck, they still looked to have at least half thread on them. I rotated them every 5K miles (oil change) and stayed on their pressure...
Right now the tire i run is a BFG KM2 mudder in a 285/17. I love these tires, but the drawback is in the sand they dig, and HARD, but in the mud, they flat out rock.. Highway they make noise, but thats to be expected.. so far after 10K miles, they are wearing well, but dont forsee them outlasting the Toyos...
I wish someone from toyo would read this and make the M55 in a 285/17 combo!! they do in stock size for our rams tho
Im pretty sure im not the only one..

My Bridgestone AT REVOs have been a good all arond tire but the mileage sucks. I probably won't get 20k out of them. The key to tire survival is rotation and not towing heavy on kill. My next set is either going to Goodyear Silent Armors or the M55 Toyo. I've had good luck with the M55's and my BIL got the Silent Armors the same time I got my Revos and his are wearing like iron and function just as well on all terrain. I think Silent Armors are going on the wife's Suburban too. The stock Bridgestone Duelers are a joke and are pretty well gone with 21k on them.
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Still prefer Yokahoma on any of my vehicles. Very comfortable and quiet. Was a bit leery about using them on my truck, especially while towing, but they have worked out great and will replace them with the same when these wear out.

I had BFG's and really liked them. I got about 50k on them but they only come in a D rating in 35x12.5-17. Switched to Bridgestone Revo II same size but E rating. So far I have a little over 10k on them and like them a lot. They still look new. I wont go back to BFG unless they up their ratings.

Ive been running BFG Mud Terrains for the past 10 years. (91,000 miles).
They are not great for heavy loads, but handle what I do haul, not that loud, hold up well under most weather conditions and, as long as you keep them rotated, hold up well for several years.
Now, with that said, BFG has changed the design of the mud terrains since I purchased 10 years ago.
My wifes Excursion is dressed in the new design and, well, I dont think she'll see the mileage out of the new design that I did from the older design.
She's had them on her truck for about two years and are roughly wore about 1/4 life.
That would give here another 3 to 5 years before looking for new tires at the current wear rate.
Perhaps the newer design is made from a softer compound or maybe her trucks just weighs more. Whatever, pretty sure her truck wont see 10 years/80,000+ miles out of 'em - but there still an over-all good tire for most weather conditions.
