I would like to see one for the 12valves. Don't get me wrong I have had 3 24valved rigs and two 12valved ones, but would really like to open a magazine and not see all the ads for the boxes or programmers just stuff for the 12valves. Write ups on homemade plates or homemade twins just about all the stuff you read about on here, Big Bad Dodge had a right up somewhere about when he took his truck to (I think) piers for them to build him a engine it was a very good write up of the hole process and is worthy of any diesel magazine.
A tech book would be awesome.
Somethin like a chapter on makin a 12 valve ect.
Like how the forum is divided up but split the 2nd gens 12/24 and write a chapter about each truck performance and maintence wise.
Then write a chapter on autos and then one for manuals.
You really could have a 20 to 40 page book maybe more as like a shop guide or a diesel bible somethin like that, so everyone could refer to it.

Definately don't waste your money on "Truck Trend " . I glanced through the latest issue in WalMart yesterday . They had a 4wd comparison with a " surprise" winner . No surprise to me . It was a Nissan Titan - same truck they judged to be " best truck in America" several months back .
I think PRIMEDIA has a problem. They feature the same stuff in 3 or 4 magazines. They buy one truck say a ford superduty and then and those 3 or 4 magazines write about it. And no offense to you west coast guys but diesel power kinda revolves around you not the east coasters.
There was one of those subscription cardds that fell out of one of my ATV magzines for a new magazine called "8 Lug Diesel". What a stupid name, and dont 99% of diesel pickup trucks have 8 lugs?, aside from those cheesy 1/2ton diesel chevys??? The picture of the magazine on the subscription card had a jacked chevy on probably 48" tires, 28" rims, an assenine paint job, huge hood scoop, chrome garbage everywhere, and like a 20-link suspension.

the diesel world with the blue ford that was lifted to the moon(2 months back), what a joke. look real close at the pic of him spinning the back tires, there is no one in the cab. what a photoshop joke. this clown has like 42" tires, an intake and exhaust and is spinning 42"s with a psd?
real obvious fake pic.

I subscribe to Diesel Power and like it for the most part. I have sent the editors a few ideas for articles. I'm sure they have axed them by now! They replied with "if you have any ideas, just send them to us." So, if there is anything you guys want to see, just ask them. It will however probably take three months to print!
I'd like to see more articles on actual "tech" stuff. Stuff like, how to test a MAP sensor. I want to know 'exactly' how things work and exactly how to test them. I want techy jargon and instruction on like how to hook an oscope or DMM to a sensor and see if it is actually working. I hate this, put in a new MAP sensor and try it junk. I don't know how much of this stuff on our trucks is proprietary or not, but I want a list of signal specs on how everything works. The dodge repair manual shows what bolts to pull and how to replace stuff, but the testing part of it is too elementry for me. I'm a volts, amps, and junk type of guy. How? Why? That aught to fill a magazine for years! Especially with all the different models out there.
I was dissappointed in Diesel Power last fall when the title said "How to get 1000 out of a single tank of fuel." Then you read it and they are putting a 60 gallon tank under the truck...well...no poop Shirlock. I could get a million miles if I just pulled a tanker around!

The only magazines that I've picked up at newstands a is diesel power, and I will probly subscribe to it soon. But I would like to see them publish a more well rounded magazine with more articles, The Jan. issue I just picked up is loaded with ads. I know that's how these magazines make their money but it would be nice to get some more imformation out of reading one of these.

I suscribe to both diesel power and diesel word now. Also have the new 8-lug magazine that just came out. I would say I like Diesel Power for all the new updates coming out and Diesel World for the Tech related stuff because they go more in depth a little.
