I thought the same thing for my bed, but that's not the way it worked out.

Mine weighs 7100lbs empty bed, 1/4 tank fuel. I can strip it down to around 6950lbs if I remove bed mat, spare and tail gate for the drag strip.

How Much!!

I put a load of mulch in at the local recycling center and the total load was 9900 lbs! After unloading I just had to go back and find out what was just me and the truck. She was a svelte 7,700 lbs.

What we need is two identical trucks to post on here, one a 2WD and the other 4WD, then we could be sure of the added weight of the 4WD.

ok same stuff like yours except 1/4 tank fuel and 5 gal gas air compressor and soaking wet it weighs 9,220. without me about 9,200. dont know what you weigh so you'll have to figure that part and that should give the diff between the a 2x4 and 4x4

Last time mine was on the scales it weighed 6480.

1st gens are light. A 2wd non intercooled truck can be as light as 4500 lbs.

Alright so my 8673 - me = 8448 - 21 gallons * 7.3lbs = 153 lbs = 8295.
Good job on the 9200 lb estimate. 9200-8300=900lbs difference between your 4WD, air compressor, and whatever various tools you have that I don't. But I do have added weight from my bumper about (265, don't know weight of the normal bumper) and a heavier transmission.

My 3500 was 6960 with me in it and a 1/4 tank, so it would be about 6800 lbs. without me.

My 2500 was just under 8k, but I had roughly 1000-1100 lbs in the back, and that was around 1/2 tank. So I'm guessing under same conditions, it would be around 6800 lbs. as well.
