Water/Meth Injection??

What's the real deal on water/meth injection? Interested in hearing from users if it really works, is worth the kit price, and who has the best kits. Also thinking there may be a fairly simple homebrew method of building my own kit if the system actually works.

Never seen actual dyno printouts to prove some of the claims on the net, so any light you can shed on that is appreciated. Is it a good upgrade? Thanks!

Yes it does work, however this is mostly effective for the lower egt levels, you can count on about 200 degress less when driving or towing up hills. And somewhere around 50 horsepower. I only did it for towing up steep hills. Snow performance makes a good kit, but the biggest and baddest kit is made by hypermax it was produced for the ford but I think you can run it on the cummins.

Thanks JD! Just what I wanted to hear as I'm thinking about it for a Cummins 4BT conversion truck used for full time RV towing. A few more ponies hitched up would be real nice, and only need it occasionally on those steep hills and long grades.

hey JD, how long does say a gallon of mix last when towing? Meaning, will a gallon last for a fuel tank full, or do I have to pull over more often? I need something to keep the egts down, before I break the bank and upgrade to twins.

Well it depends, on mine with the jets that I am running I can go around 15 miles will under constant boost but I am tapped into my stock fluid box(washer fluid) which is bigger than the one the kit provides. You can run smaller jets too if you want to reduce the flow.

It works well for me. See my sig for dyno results. EGT drops 200 degrees. I feel the Snow Stage 2 kit is worth it if smooth response is important to you. If a nitrous-style kick in the pants is what you want, get a kit with a switch or build your own.
