Thumbs up V-10 Diesel VW Toureg, WOOHOO!

Well I finally got to drive my first VW Toureg V-10 Diesel today and all I can say is "WOOHOO!" This thing halls donkey. I thought my truck was a blast to drive! 300+hp, 550 fttq, 20+ miles to gallon, will tow 7,700 pounds, All-wheel/4wd drive with 4Lo (Hill descent and ascent feature), airbag sport suspension that automatically adjusts on the fly, traction control, the list goes on. This thing has the quietest, smoothest diesel engine that I've ever heard. You can't tell this is a diesel unless you see the BIG V-10TDi badge on the liftgate. This thing ROCKS! If you guys get a chance to drive one, DO IT!

Nope! $60K+ VW is proud of them! And they should be, awesome display of German engineering!

They are biult on the same platform as the porshe suv.

I haven't been in a Toureg, but I have been in one of the Porshes and wow! It was the 4.2 v8 and it got up went. It was a nice car and all but not a 65 thousand dollar car.

Actually its the other way around. The Porsche Cheyannes and the New Audi SUV all start out there life from the VW assembly plant. VW takes a % of frames/platforms and distributes them to Porsche and Audi. I have a customer, she has a Toureg V-8, and her husband has a Cheyanne and they both like the Toureg better. More comfortable and the fit and finish is better.

If I ever have the bones to buy an SUV (more of a truck guy though) that would be the one I would get.

I saw one of them Touregs the other day. It was a diesel. Engine was quiet, but the turbo was noticable when the lady accelerated (i was standing outside a store), the turbo sounds real real good.
