The truck is ready to go for its new motor

The truck has been down for a month now. It will be going tomorrow for it new motor it has the "53" block in it so cummins will be puting a new block in it does anyone kno like what kind of new block it will be its not going to be a new "53" block rite

Anything has to be better than a 53. Don't get me wrong knocking on wood here,haven't had any problems.

Wow. I think Ive seen Your truck. Are you around the 95 corridor in New Haven alot? Too bad about that 53 block. when I was looking for trucks I went to look at one that had 89K with a 53 and I walked away . It had some sweat coming down the oil pan in the crack area. Came across another that hadnt cracked with 175K on it and it was bombed pretty heavy. Cant tell sometimes I guess. good luck keep us updated, Jim

You will be getting what is called a STORM block from Cummins... basically it is the block they are using now for all replacement , STORM straight thread o ring machined block. it has been a very good block.

Did the block crack? - and if so are they covering it under warrenty? - or are you paying for the new block..........

The policy with Cummins right now is... must be under 150,000 miles , and Cummins will replace the block and all hard parts. Customer pays labor and consumable parts , such as filters , oil , ect.
