It is used atf that people are discussing burning.
If it's free of contaminants and particulates enough to use for fuel why even bother changing the tranny fluid?

Yep - yer engine and trans operating clearances are at least several orders of magnitude looser than the plunger\barrel tolerances in the Inj Pump.

And what about the micro-honed finish surfaces, required to pump light oil at high pressure with no leak-down.

Combustive byproducts, acids, and micro-grit should work wonders in there over a few miles.

And thru the injector pintles, nozzles and stuff.

Hmmm.......wonder how that compares to the 'extrude-hone' process?

And the IP seals weren't formulated to survive some of those additives.

Remember - if it's not the same color as when it poured outta the new container, leave it in the used container.

Not even to mention that it was never formulated for combustion chamber service.

And the smog-cops are beginnin' to go all Kalifornia on us.................

This post is so stupid it is funny. Anybody, and I mean anybody, who'd run used atf through a CP3 pump on HPCR Cummins is brave or crazy.

On second thought, I like the idea of running #2 diesel in my tranny as somebody pointed out, I bet that would sure keep it clean in there!

This is rediculous.

There are some heavy pieces of equipment out there that use fuel in some of the drive units so it isn't that far fetched.

Filter the oil properly and it wouldn't surprise me if it would work just fine.
