I went to class on the new C-7 and C-9 and there was a couple at the truck shop in houston when we were there. And we looked at it on Cats website and found the specs for it. We believe its a full cat engine. it isnt of perkins design.

Outlaw, Have you seen the new Cat C-175 yet??? that thing is a BEAST. Saw it in Peoria awhile back. Its got the CCR fuel system on it.

Maybe toyota will use a duramax when GM finally dies its slow and painful death and they buy them up

I got to see the C-175 run while in Peoria for school. Had it on a load bank... pulled about 6,000 hp at the flywheel at 1200RPM.

OK, done some digging around and even talked to our salesman... 6.6L cat is a perkapillar... and it does have a common rail fuel system. Cat recently bought up controlling interest in Perkins, and ever since that happened the quality on the little engines has been better.
