Another negative about ULSD besides lost lubricity, sulfur is excellent at killing microbes or keeping the numbers down in diesel so I've been told.

Over here in the UK we have been using ULSD for a number of years, i know i ought to use additives more often than i do but they are very expensive overhere, as is the cost of fuel. The only additives i can easily find are injector/fuel system cleaners. But the truck seems to run ok,starts first crank, even on cold mornings.

As if that ain't bad enough NASCAR is going to start using unleaded gas in the not too distant future .

So? There's been high octane race fuel for a LONG time now.

There hasn't been much sulpher left in the H/S D/O for quite some time. The pipeline that I load at has a already dyed H/S loading rack & a low sulpher rack where the dye is injected as you load. They will be making the H/S rack into ulsd rack & the other rack will be lsd clear & dyed until the ls d/o is fazed out completley.

fuel additive

so was does the board recommend for a fuel additive and where do you get it and in what ratio do you mix it into your tank?
