Tdr

Anybody signed up at TDR recently?

I was a member for years and then let my membership lapse. Does it still take days to get registered after paying the fee?

Hmm... I look through the archives from time to time there but IMO you can't beat DTR. It is kind of annoying to not be able to search but I'd rather donate to DTR who doesn't demand payment rather than a place who expects a annual fee.

Tdr works just fine and is also a great forum. I visit each equally and each have their strong points.

There is a large volume of info on TDR and it would be helpful to be able to search for it. If I have to pay, so be it. DTR is great as well, but the participation is lower and the lack of interest in a lot of topics makes it hard to get answers.

Almost 10yrs over there. Much more civil over here. A good debate is one thing but sometimes TDR is like a playground with one tricycle.

Don't know if it's just my computer but the TDR site runs real slow for me, I get frustrated with it.

For us "out of towners" its a little more pricey.. with the conversion its over $50 for the membership.. Been there (like in 98)-done that... Nice place to visit once and a while.

I was hoping it would have leveled off after the initial growing pains..

I just let my TDR membership lapse. I had a more difficult time finding things on there, and it was much slower to get a response. Although I liked the magazine idea they fell short of what I expected as far as info on the 1st gens. Maybe I should have been a member of tdr 9 -10 years ago for the info I want. They are onto the newer stuff now and that's ok. If I had a newer truck it would be a good deal.

From what I've noticed going through TDR archives, hot topics on TDR of course yield a lot more responses than we get here but I find a lot more threads with no responses there than we do here. So it is like the hot are really hot and cold are really cold there.

I paid online and was on the website within 2-3 days. It was my fault it took so long, cause i screwed up my password and screenname. I really enjoy TDR. I still come and check in here once in awhile, but I spend most of my time over there.

When I was on the site back in 2000, I had the same problem. The magazine was getting down to 2 pages for the 1st gens and everything else was for the 24V, which was kind of new at the time. I had the 89 at that time and finding info was pretty scarce.

It was frustrating, but the 1st gen forum was pretty informative and some really good guys on there. The original members in the 1st gen area know their stuff, but I find most of them here too.
