Thumbs up Talk to a Dmax owner at the pumps today.

I had to fill up the 93 today and a Duramax was on the otherside pumping diesel. I pulled up and waited for my egt to drop and shut off the truck (straightpiped). He smiled and I started pumping. He asked me how I liked the ol' dodges. I said it is nice and asked him how he liked his Duramax (it looked brand new). He said he really liked it especially since he superchipped it. He said the superchipped Duramax is the fastest diesel around . He asked why I waited in the truck before I shut it off and I tried to explain about the EGTs needing to come down. Then he asked what I had done to it to need all those guages. He said he lived a little further up the road and would show me how a chipped D'MAX ran. He pulled onto the road and nailed it. I pulled up next to him and had to backpedal it due to the fact the rear tires broke loose. I got back into it again and pulled him again. He was in awe. We gave a mutual thumbs up. Maybe I converted him

Chances are pretty good that his so called supercharger was just an intake and exhaust I do a ton of reading on these diesel sites, and have never heard of anyone doing the supercharger. Sounds like he is a big talk highschool boy.

My boss who is a good friend of mine has a 05 Duramax with a Edge Juice/Attitude, MBRP 4" exhuast and a AFE stage 1 and I don't think my truck could beat his. I have riden in his truck when we go hunting and that thing is quick.

I was surprised as well

If he had gotten anything but the superchips programmer I think he would have walked me. I've seen a lot of quick Dmax's but nothing too quick around here. There are a lot of diesels around here due to the amount of farms but they all seem to be mostly stock.

I knew I was getting old, now I need glasses

The superchip is a huge juke for the Duramax engine. It is lucky if it gives 50 extra hp. That`s why they have maybe 1/2 of 1 percent of the market.

we put an Hot edge attitude (150 hp) on a duramax,

and we as well modded a 12 valve cummins... too bad as for the duramax, he had to see a dodge name on the tailgat before him, and a cloud of smoke

hmm now that im with it, the duramax even lost against a 99 24 valve cummins the only mod was an edge comp (120hp) (and i think it had a turbo from a bigger cummins - not actually a mod, he didnt have a clue what turbo to buy...)
but the CTD won!

gotta love CUMMINS!

Agreed. I've seen D-maxs break 700 hp on electronic mods alone.

my brother has an 04.5 dmax 3500 I had to run him up the mountain when I got my ctd home just to shut him up. both of us stock and neither one could pull the other but I did have a six spd he had the allie. He programmed his with a predator for 50 hp and he can out run me pretty bad now. But I still pass more pumps.

According to the superchips website, max gain on a 04-05 d-max is 130hp. Not to bad for a superchip! Anyone notice the stock hp and tq numbers?

Here is one for the 98-02 dodge

I think I prefer the Cummins tq curve

i got beat by two trucklengths by a new 6.0 a few weeks ago, saw the A-pillar edge and he had it straight piped. too bad it's going to blow up soon. i hardly have anything done to my truck either, i don't even have 3k gsk yet. i still can't get one of our customers with an '04 6.0 to hook up our hitches, keeps saying he doesn't want to lose to a 6 cylinder.
the Dmax's are quick with the edge box, one of our customers has one, pretty sure he'd beat me soundly in a race. for now.

The V-8's are a good ricer...errrr Racer on the street. The quick fueling and not even caring about boost makes the Dmax quick out of the shutes.. The hills however, well its good they have an auto to give some slip to keep the RPM's up.

I have given a few "chipped" Dmax's a little to think about around here. From the line, I would be a dead fool, but rolling in 3rd or 4th, get out of the way...LOL.
