I've never really thought about it, and never really learned about it...so....why do the front wheels on Duallies poke out?
Is it to widen the track width for better stability?
Like I said, I never really thought about it, just something I thought of the other day and figured I'd ask...

The tire does not, just the wheel as the center is shaped different on a dual wheel so that two can be bolted together. A single wheel has the bolt flange roughly in the center of the tire and the dual wheel has the bolt flange a couple of inches out past the tire. An adaptor allows it to bolt up to the front hub.

By adapting the front hub, it allows you to use the same wheel as on the rear. Therefore you only need one (1) style wheel for a spare.

AS I look at it , it's possible the bud wheel with offset centers may put more stress on the bearing and hub. That is considering the angle of the dangle and the lever of the clever!
