Tailgate Assist

Is anyone using this product, http://www.gateassist.com/index.html. I saw it and thought it looked like a good idea.

I couldn't tell from the pictures, but do they replace the existing support cables or do they install just beside them?

EDIT :

Never mind, after looking closer the support cables remain in place, and the cylinders install on the inside of the bed.

I don't know what that exact one sells for but you can get the ez-down off e-bay for 55 not 64 like they list it for,The one in your thread looks like it locates on the inside of the box,the ez down hides in the box jamb.

I had emailed the company to get a price and where to purchase. The price he quoted me was $139, I think that's a bit much in my book for a gas strut and a couple bolts. I like the idea that it assists in both directions, but I don't like that it mounts to the inside of the bed. I like the EZ Down and may go that route.
