I have a friend with a '86 Ford F-250 with a 6.9 and he wants to put a tach on it. Anyone know the hows and what fer's to accomplish this task ?

I have a junked 84 with a factory tach. It`s no trouble to put in.

 

Not sure if they are still in business but I put a Dixco diesel tach in my '84 6.9 back in '89 and as far as I know my friend that bought it in '95 or '96 still has it working. (I drove it a few years ago and it was still fine) It senses speed off an alternator wire for easy hook up and is calibrated to the Ford 6.9. relable and accurate.
