When i first got the truck i had only about 4 feet of pipe after the turbo and i got pulled over for not having a licence plate and it was winter so i let my truck idle to stay warm and the cop never even mentioned my exhaust he just asked for my paper work and said i should go get a temporary plate if i dont want to keep getting pulled over all the time lol.

Now if the 6" duel chrome stacks dont scream no muffler to the cops i dont know what does and i have never been bothered by them. I take it real easy on the skinny pedel when ever i see one though and take extra care not to leave them in a black cloud of smoke when i take off from a stop light. I dont think it gets real loud until the waste gate pops open

I'd rather not participate in this one because I don't want to jinx anything.

I might just be lucky to live in Pennsylvania but we don't have those pesky EMMISION laws here for diesels. So guess what no muffler needed. The police can pull me over all they want (which they don't) unless they have a db meter they can't say it's to loud or illegal. And with no IM law I don't need a muffler to pass state saftey inspection.

My truck was straight piped when I got it. I didn't even know until several weeks later when I finally got around to looking underneath. I've never been stopped for it or anything else. They're used to these trucks around here and pretty much leave us alone.

I took the cat of off of mine but put it back on after I found out it's worth about $1000.00. I don't want to ahve to buy one when I have to get it smogged.

How do you guys pass emissions/inspections with straight pipe if your state has those laws? Put the cat and muffler back on before or what?

Never been in trouble for havin a straight pipe. Our friend seems to think I'm going to get in trouble for not having a muffler when I get an E-test, we have a round of golf ridin on the bet. I get to choose the test place.
